Points to Ponder #07-01

POINTS TO PONDER
Issue 07-01
From CSFC President Helen Zajac
CATEGORY:  Chapter Suggestions    June 15, 2007

Subject: CSFC On-Call Team

The Federation established a special team of volunteers comprised of former Federation Presidents and experienced NARFE members to assist Chapters who are having difficulties with obtaining officers, participation, membership and other issues which concern chapters.

The Mission of this On-Call Team is to:

            •           Determine if the chapter can survive, even if it means redefining and reorganizing its
                         short term goals

•          View challenges as opportunities to regroup and rebuild the chapter and its membership

•           Build membership value and attendance at chapter meetings, activities, and functions

•           Expand, identify, develop, train and mentor existing and future leaders

Based on the concept of shared resources, Team volunteers will share their experience and expertise with chapter leaders in a peer-to-peer exchange of ideas, mentoring, and “best practices” examples.  While no specific time limit can be defined, it is anticipated that immediate help would be followed by periodic monitoring, not to exceed one year.

If your chapter is in trouble, you should first notify your District Vice President (DVP), who will then try to work with your chapter to identify things which could be done to assist your chapter.  If that contact with your DVP is unsuccessful, or if your DVP needs some additional help, the CSFC On-Call Team is available.

The Team Leader is Don Ross who can be reached at Rosvc@sbcglobal.net or 510-608-0569.

Members of the team include:
