NARFE Members of California:

SIX MONTH FREE MEMBERS: One of the new membership programs the National Office has implemented is a free six (6) month membership for retired federal employees.  After six (6) months they can renew their membership at the same cost that you and I pay. 

In October 357 California retirees applied for the six month free program.

These retiree's name, address and, in some cases, telephone number are listed on the  M-112 (Monthly Chapter Activity Report) under the Category "Free 6-Month Member".    Not all chapters will have members listed in this category every month.  The issue here is "WE NOW HAVE A NAME AND ADDRESS OF A RETIRED FEDERAL EMPLOYEE".  That's something we were
never able to get before!  It's imperative that the Chapter members contact these retirees, welcome them as permanent members into your chapter, send them your newsletter, invite them to participate in your meetings, insure they understand the benefits of being a member of NARFE.
